Systems Engineer

MRP LATAM is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to provide service to our local team.
 

The candidate should be proficient in Cisco, Microsoft, and AWS technologies.  The candidate should also have over 3 years of experience working in a similar capacity or managed services. 

Essential Functions

 

Within this role you will work within a team capacity and have individual responsibilities. The below describes the primary functions but should not be considered an exhaustive list of job duties and responsibilities for the role.

  • Design, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of the local area network (LAN) and/or wide area network (WAN) with a global perspective.
  • Strong system administration (Linux/Windows) at the command-line level
  • Troubleshoot escalated complex network & systems issues
  • Manage the overall health of the network and its internal and external connections, identifying potential issues or opportunities for improvement
  • Administers user access for the network and some key business applications
  • Backup and restoration of data to and from the network
  • Zero to limited travel requirement
  • Role will require periodical after-hours and weekend work support

Required Experience

  •          Proven track record of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux based systems
  •          Fortigate firewalls, Cisco firewall, routing and switching
  •          Basic scripting experience Powershell and python
  •          Resolve customer requests/tickets, adhere to established internal workflows
  •          Working knowledge of Linux based PBX i.e. Asterisk
  •          Experience supporting cloud Infrastructure: o365/Azure/AWS/GCP
  •          Strong remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications
  • Strong Active Directory Administration including PowerShell scripting

Desired Experience

  • Experience with Helpdesk ticketing solution
  • Experience with patching systems vulnerabilities i.e. zero-day exploits
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory/Azure
  • Experience working with Exchange 2016/2019 and o365 Administration
  • Experience with security software: Microsoft Defender/anti-spam and other security related technologies
  • Palo Alto firewalls
  • Virtualization experience with VMware

Educational & Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Cisco CCNA, Microsoft MCSA or Azure, AWS certifications preferred

 Language/Communication Skills

  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, and face-to-face) in both English and Spanish
  • Effectively presentation of information, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers

The Inside Sales department is in charge of executing demand generation projects in which business opportunities are identified for our clients with certain criteria previously established, in addition, data intelligence is gathered in the process that help make decisions and define the new marketing strategies.
